Sophisticated Sophomores!

This week: April 21st-25th

Last week, students turned in their note cards for research.  This coming week, we will continue to reading To Kill a Mockingbird and begin working on research rough drafts.

Study guides were distributed in class before Spring Break and need to be brought to class daily.  Quizzes will be given every 3-4 chapters.

Please take some time to check out the links below for background information and help understanding the story.

Nightly/Weekly homework:

Read independently each night for at least 20 minutes.  Also, read over any notes taken in class.

Focus on Writing: Tips for student:

Before beginning to write, use a pre-writing strategy to get your thoughts in order and to make sure you have enough support for your ideas.

When writing persuasively, don't always choose the side that you believe, choose the side that you can argue the best (the one that you can think  of enough support for).
